Born in Hiroshima, Japan, MIWA was raised in a musical family: older brother a classical pianist and her aunt a classical singer . She moved around to Chicago US, Toronto CAN, and cities such as Hiroshima, Kagoshima, Chiba and Tokyo, in Japan.

 

She started singing as a child and street dancing in her teenage years, performing in clubs and TV shows in Tokyo. A demo tape audition brought her to release a few CDs, and with this release she met Goto, a drummer and programmer of Japanese rock band "Plagues", and started making music together. Then she met a guitarist Ushio, and began a unit titled "BRAVEBIRD". Later, WaDoo and Yoshiyuki came into the group for performing dance in live stages.

 

BRAVEBIRD's demo was passed on from people to people, and their songs were released from various labels, crossing over the borders of labels and countries.

 

Her talent has been heard through the demos and has worked personally with artists such as Cargo, Joi, Chris Brann, and Soundtrack composer Yugo Kanno. More of her personal works has been heard through soundcloud and is presently working with Makira label for many other artists for releases to come.

 

Her voice, along with melody, lyrics and track making, is borderless and is to be heard world-wide from the new international releases to come.

 

兄がピアニスト、叔母がシンガーとして海外で活躍する、生粋のクラシック音楽に囲まれ育つ。生まれは三原市広島。その後アメリカのシカゴやカナダのトロントで数年間過ごし、日本と海外を行ったり来たりする生活の中、幼少期からダンス音楽に興味を持ち、大学を機に上京しストリートダンスを本格的に始める。

都内クラブやTV等でダンスや歌のステージを重ねていた中、一つのデモ音源がきっかけでファッションブランドLuvlishやFrancFrancのCDをリリース。同CDリリースを機に現BRAVEBIRDのメンバーでありロックバンドPLAGUESの後藤敏昭氏と出会い、楽曲制作に没頭する。以来ProToolsを扱いボーカルのみでなく作詞作曲を含むサウンド・クリエイティング～MIXまでこなす。

その後ギタリストUshioとアコースティック・ライブ活動を展開。3人でBRAVEBIRDを結成、デモCDを製作し、CDは人から人へと渡る。

その結果、ドラマ/映画の作曲家・菅野祐悟氏、ハウスアーティストJoiやCargo aka GOKU氏の耳に止まり作詞、作曲、シンガーとして起用される。また、2012年にはダンスミュージックで世界的な地位を誇るアナンダプロジェクトのクリス・ブランよりラブコールを受けデモを作成。来日の際ライブで披露している。

 

CDはさらにCommonGoundRecordingsのWaDooに渡り、"License to your heart"をリリース。ここでWaDoo氏と出会い、YOSHIYUKIを含め二人をダンスパフォーマーとして迎え新たな活動を開始する。　デモはRamblingRecordsにも渡り、UnloveEPをリリース。

 

そして2013年、自身の新たなフィールドを求め新曲をSoundcloudにアップしていたところ、海外レーベルより誘いを受け、2014年より新たに海外リリースプロジェクトが始まった。

彼女の天性の作曲能力に加え、一度聴いたら忘れられない艶やかでセクシーなウィスパーヴォイスは聴くものを虜にする。今後ミュージックシーンを代表するシンガー及びコンポーザーへと成長するであろう。
